I'm not going to lie, kids. This evening finds me in a serious funk. Maybe it's the weather, and the long months of winter that still lay before me. Maybe it's the ridiculous deadlines I'm trying to meet. Maybe I just woke up on the wrong fricking side of the bed.
Whatever the reason, I need a laugh. And you know what always does the trick? This video.
See? Never fails.
But I could use some ideas for more lasting funk relief. What do you guys do to cheer yourselves up when you're feeling down?

Love that video so much!!! The "JK Wedding video" always makes me feel good too.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh. That's a hard one. What's worked the best for me is to take off by myself for the day. I run errands, but I also get lunch and Starbucks...maybe browse Target or a craft store or something. I just spend the day alone, recharging. I usually come home in a better mood.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for all I was worth that someone had left a comment here with the cure for the winter blues. A trip to Hawaii perhaps? I'd be OK with that.
ReplyDeleteI love this video. Man, does he chuckle or what?
ReplyDeleteWhen I work out, I mean really work out, I forget everything. But when I'm in a funk... like, need a break kind of funk... Brunch. Lots of Bloody Marys and Brunch.
The only thing that gets me out of my winter funk is a great book and a big cup of hot chocolate. I lock myself in my room, tuck deep under the covers and read until my life doesn't exist - only the book does. I always close the book feeling as if I have just woken up and can now face the day.
ReplyDeleteWeird Al. Works every time.
ReplyDeleteMartini Night!!!! No, wait - sometimes that doesn't help at all and causes more bad things to happen. Um, taking a break and heading off by myself for awhile to do whatever my little heart desires. Hmmmm....Breaking things? Ha!
ReplyDeleteI love babies uncontrollable laughter. You just can't help buy smile.
ReplyDeleteI am still new to this whole WINTER phenomenon and I most definitely have the funk. So far my strategy has been playing more music in the background, making more special dinners, and throwing in more bright colors around the house. And lets not forget about the COFFEE.
