Banishing the Baby Belly: Holiday Break.

You know what, kids? It's the holiday season. I'm busy, you're busy...the whole world's busy.

I did get on the scale today, and it reported no loss. But no gain, either. But given the season (and the fact that I've had house guests two weekends in a row), I'm going to call that a victory.

I'm also going to call that the last official weigh in (at least that I'm going to admit to) until after the holidays. That's right. Banishing the Baby Belly is going on break until January.

When January comes? I'm going to hit it hard. This weight is going to come off.

But for now, I'm happy with maintaining a holding pattern. I simply don't have enough energy to keep up with it right now.

Yeah, that's a cop out. But it's my blog and my challenge, so I'm allowed, right? Don't answer that.

So how about you? What are your holiday goals?

  1. Definitely wait until January! Might as well enjoy yourself until the new year...right? And you should be proud that the scale stayed the same. I was up three pound this morning due to the garlic bread and cheese tortellini I had for dinner last night. And I loved every bite! :)

  2. My holidays goals are to just get the photo letters out this year.
    And to wrap the presents.
and to relax and enjoy the time with my family. Christmas is about giving not running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I need to remember that more.
Amber, you are a great writer. I just thought you might want to know. And i am glad I know you. You are AWESOME! ;)Good luck with your weight goal, you and me both...;)

  3. Congrats for maintaining!

I am not taking a break from the scale... despite the fact I've gained THREE pounds since last week!

Please try to post weekly though...sans the scale? I look forward to checking in!

And Holiday goals? Just to stick with my 1/2 marathon training... 13.1 miles aint gonna run itself in April!

  4. Yep, if you can't give yourself a break, nobody else will :) maintaining is definitely a win heading into the holidays. Goal for the holidays is to work on my blog calendar

  5. My Old Years Resolution (not gonna wait, cos then I'll never do it) is to drop a pants size by Dec 31. Why not?

Doing the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels. 20 minutes a day.

  6. 'Kay. I'll still do posts every saturday...I just won't get on the scale if it's going to be bad.

I was dealing with a migraine yesterday and so not in the best of spirits...I'm definitely not giving up!

You ladies rock. And thank you Alex. You're awesome too!

  7. My holiday goals are to: decorate the house, study my new camera more (my early Christmas gift), figure out what the hell to get my husband, and to not spend all of our money. Pretty reasonable I think ;o)

  8. I think it's perfectly reasonable to take the holiday season off. I imagine it's impossible to watch your weight when there's so much food! Parties, family's good to relax a little now and then!

My only goals this season? I'm goin to try and not loose my mind. And I'm going to be pleasant to my in-laws. :)
