Banishing the Baby Belly: The Don't Ask Don't Tell Edition.

This week, I have consumed brownies, Christmas cookies, fudge, hamburgers, pizza and junk food galore. Not to mention copious amounts of wine and beer.

Yep, it's the holidays.

You know what that means, right? I didn't get on the scale this weekend.

But you know what? My husband weighed himself, and he's all like, "Gee whiz, I seem to have lost two pounds. I wonder how that happened?"

Bastard.

Don't worry, he knows I'm kidding (mostly).

Oh, and I probably won't be getting on the scale next weekend either. See, I'll be seven hours away from my scale, and I don't know about you but I don't trust other people's scales. I just don't (also, it's a good excuse).

So that's my total cop out. Anybody out there share my pain?

  1. I don't trust other people's scales either!

And why do men lose weight without trying??? Seriously.

  2. My husband loses weight just by breathing out.

I'm going to do a weigh in tomorrow. Please let the scales be kind!

  3. It's smart to not trust other scales - it doesn't take more than a pound off here or there and you feel like you've done something wrong when you haven't. Not worth the headache.

  6. Thanks for stopping by Holyoke Home! Food is my thing for SURE. I stopped eating sugar and flour and its really helped a lot of things: cravings, mood swings, digestive issues, and on and on. It's really hard to stick with it, but I get help. I hope I don't sound like a Pollyanna. It really is very difficult to stick with, but for me, the benefits FAR outweigh the difficulty.

  7. I'm with you, unless they have a scale that shows you weighing less than you thought? Those are such a nice surprise!

  8. This is why I'm not starting until AFTER the holidays! LOL...

I just wanted to let you know, I have your button on my blog, and I clicked on it tonight (cuz I'm giving you an award but please wait for the official not as I'm still working on it) and it didn't work, I went in and added the "www" part of your address, and now it works. Not sure if it was a fluke or what, but wanted to let you know.

  9. Oh, yes. Gotta love it when people mysteriously lose weight but when you're actually TRYING...desperately...the pounds never seem to shed.

    Best of luck. :)

  11. I'm giving up weighing myself until the holidays are over and I've had a least a week of good eating. I just don't want to know what that number is creeping up to.
