Banish the Baby Belly: Week Seven

You know, by the time I'd been doing this for six weeks, I thought for sure I'd have something momentous to report. Like, maybe a total loss of ten pounds or something?

Yeah. Apparently, in order to make that happen, you have to, I don't know, actually try? Hard? Instead of engaging in the half-assedness I have been guilty of lately?

You've probably guessed this already, but I have nothing to report. No loss, no gain. So it could be worse. Could be better, though. I've lost a whopping four pounds in six weeks. Whoooooo. That's not exactly fantastic.

I might be just be a tiny bit disappointed in myself, can you tell? At this rate, I will, in fact, end up seeing all my relatives at Christmas looking like I'm baking a baby. Which was cute last year. Not so much anymore (because I'm not preggers, you see. And, if I have anything to say about it, I will still not be preggers at Christmas).

In other news, a ladybug just fell into my coffee. That is so not cool.

Anywho, there's nothing I can do but keep on keepin' on.  So, exercise. I should do some of that this week. Definitely, for sure, I should do some of that. And brownies. I should stop eating those this week. That would probably be a good idea. Also, candy. I should actually give away all the Reese's Peanut Butter cups tonight instead of hoarding them, as I usually do.

FYI: that last thing I said? Probably not going to happen. I luuuuuurve peanut butter cups. Love them. Those trick or treaters couldn't possibly appreciate them the way I do. What? Yes, I know keeping the PBCs falls under the category of half-assed dieting. Sigh. Okay, fine, have it your way, maybe I'll just keep a couple...

Happy Halloween, everyone! How did you do this week?

  1. I think this is the hardest season to diet in - so much good food, so many good occasions and the cool weather which seems like instinctually makes you want to "store up for winter" or just indulge in something decadent. That's my excuse anyway. Luckily since I count calories all this really means is I'm not losing much weight lately, as opposed to gaining. I do really well all day and then at night I cave, but probably less caving than if I weren't counting my calories and looking at all those bites.

Good luck in the next few weeks - and don't be too hard on yourself, you're only 7 weeks in, and you've got your whole life. Which is not to say, just forget the whole thing - just remember, tomorrow is another day.

  2. Ahh.... PBCs... Um, I told my husband to ONLY get these for tonight. So far, I've had two.

And I never made it to WW this morning, so- I have one more week to get my arse in gear.

  3. A friend of mine told me to never quit quitting...she quits exercising and eating right every night again - only to start again in the morning.

In the good news arena, I scored a jogging stroller at the used kids' store for $45 today. And it's a dang good one!

Good luck, e. At least those spinning classes keep you moving. and thanks for the pep talk, jen.

  9. Couch to 5K is THE BEST. Download Robert Ullrey's podcasts for running. He was my best friend at my 5 am pre-dawn runs. The program teaches you how to run- and love it!

    The first time I did C 25K I documented it here: www.runningmybuttoff.blogspot.com

I've ben reading my old posts to remind me of what I could accomplish back then... before Bea.
